About

Hi, I'm Taran

I've been an avid multi-genre vinyl collector for over 13 years. In that time I've been scammed by sellers abroad, paid inflated prices to sellers on Ebay and Discogs. I've had records arrive broken with no refund offered, and dont get me started on how records are graded in India. I've also missed out on records I genuinely wanted because I didn't trust the seller, or the price felt like a gamble rather than a purchase.

Vinyl Mandi exists because I got tired of that experience, and I built the shop I wish had existed when I started collecting.

My goal is simple: create a legitimate, trustworthy place for people to buy music from the South Asian diaspora - Punjabi, Hindi, and Bollywood pressings from new to old - without the anxiety I used to feel every time I clicked buy. Every record here is graded honestly, sourced directly, and priced fairly. No inflated "rare" tags, no guessing whether what arrives will match what was described, and no records arriving damaged with nowhere to turn.

The more this grows, the more I can pass back to you. Buying in larger quantities means better prices from source - economies of scale that go straight into keeping records affordable rather than into my margin. That's not a promise for later; it's the actual plan.

I try to tailor what I bring in based on what people are genuinely after, not just what's easy to source. If there's something specific you're looking for, message me, I mean that. I'd rather hunt down a record for someone who wants it than sit on stock nobody asked for.

This is still early days for Vinyl Mandi, and I'm learning as I go - but I'm doing this properly: fair pricing, honest grading, real customer service, and a genuine effort to make buying vinyl feel exciting again.

Vinyl Mandi is for the people. I'm here to keep the music on vinyl alive — for this generation and the next.
